Laurel Highlands High School is a public high school serving around 1,100 students in grades 9-12 from the outlying Uniontown city limits. Due to the campus' location, some students from Uniontown do attend LH for convenience.

Contents

Creation and History

Laurel Highlands was created in 1967, merging rivals North Union and South Union High Schools Students attended High School in the respective buildings until completion of the current high school campus in 1972. Minor upgraded were performed to the school in 1994, and presently there is debate about futute renovations, especially with the possible[2] addition of a career wing and the elimimiation of the district's natatorium, which has been recently closed for safety reasons.

Academics

According to the schools Curriculum Guide[3] students need 25.5 Credits in order to graduate, as well as complete a Graduation Project and Career Portfolio.
